An updated Windows Store app released to Fast Ring Insiders

Today, a new version of the Windows Store app was released to Insiders on the Fast Ring. Its change log is quite interesting for anyone who tracks recent changes in appearance and behavior of Windows 10 Creators Update.

As you may already know, Microsoft introduced Windows themes in the Store app. They are about to make Windows Store the go-to source for all types of content for Windows 10. For themes too, you won't need to visit a separate web site. Instead, you will be able to open the Store app and grab a theme that you like, with one click.

Today's update delivered the Store app version 11612.1001.4.0.

The change log states the following:

Improvements in the download and installation of the themes.
Bug fixes and various enhancements.

I was interested in learning what had changed in the theme delivery process. Unfortunately, not that much seems different. The Store app is still not able to install themes for your user account. You still have to follow the procedure described in the following article to apply a theme:

How to Install Themes from Store in Windows 10

Here are a few screenshots of the theme installation process I performed:

It still doesn't work. The theme is not applied and does not appear in the list of installed themes.

The updated app will be installed for you automatically. If not, here is a direct link to the Store app's page:
