YouTube now shows an anti-ad block screen with a Premium promotion timer

YouTube is currently testing a new version of warnings for free users, which includes a timer and prompts to upgrade to YouTube Premium. When the pop-up appears, a timer is displayed in the upper right corner, lasting for 30 to 60 seconds. The window highlights the benefits of a Premium subscription and offers options to "Allow YouTube ads" or "Try YouTube Premium."

YouTube Anti Adblock Timer

It is worth noting that  YouTube was testing warnings to users who watch three videos with ad blockers enabled, threatening to block access to the video player unless the ad blocker is turned off. The service claims that ads support the free access to YouTube for billions of users worldwide.

While there are workarounds to bypass the new screen, it is likely that Google has plans to detect the use of VPNs and other methods.

Finally, the service has recently increased prices for YouTube Premium, with an individual subscription costing $13.99 per month in the US and an annual subscription rising by $20 to $139.99.
