YouTube asks users what they just watched via AI-generated quizzes

YouTube is currently developing a new AI-generated quiz feature that appears after the user has finished watching a video. These quizzes aim to assess how well users have understood the topic covered in the video.

YouTube Quizzes

According to Google, these quizzes will appear on the main page of the YouTube app for both iOS and Android versions. The purpose of this feature is to make it easier for users to learn about their areas of interest. If a user is selected to be part of the experiment, they will see these quizzes on their app's main page. The quizzes will test their comprehension of the video they have recently watched.

When taking the quiz, users will be able to re-open the earlier watched video linked to the quiz. So they can revisit the video and clarify any questions they may have had. Currently, this experiment is only running for a small percentage of viewers who watch English-language instructional videos on iOS and Android devices.

In addition to this quiz feature, YouTube has also started limiting video views for users without a subscription but with ad blockers. The message explains how advertising supports YouTube and encourages users to consider joining YouTube Premium.
