What is new in the October Xbox Update

Here are the key changes you get with the latest update:

4K Dashboard on Xbox Series X. Xbox Series X, the most powerful console in the world, now renders the dashboard in native 4K instead of upscaled 1080p. That makes UI elements, such as game art, buttons, and text, clearer, sharper, and easier to read on modern 4K TVs.4K Dashboard

Xbox Night Mode. Xbox Night Mode is a new setting to adjust light sources and make the screen warmer or dimmer in dark rooms. Besides changing the brightness and blue light filter on your TV, the new software lets you dim or turn off the light on the power button on a controller or console. That allows gamers to play or enjoy their favorite movies in "theater-like darkness." You can enable Night Mode on Xbox consoles manually, create a custom schedule, or tie settings to sunrise and sunset.

Note that the blue light filter is available only on Xbox Series X and Series S. Also, light customization does not impact performance, screenshots, and clips.

Quick Settings. Gamers can now access accessibility features faster without leaving a game or app. Accessibility settings are available in the Quick Settings menu in the Xbox Guide.Night Mode Lights

The October Xbox Update is now available for Xbox One, Xbox One S, Xbox One S All-Digital, Xbox One X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X. Although Microsoft continues supporting older Xbox One consoles, some features are available only on Xbox Series X and Series S.
