Windows Subsystem for Android October updates includes performance and security updates

Microsoft has released a new version of Windows Subsystem for Android for Windows 11 (2209.40000.26.0) to Windows Insiders on the Dev and Beta channels. This update improves the stability and performance of the subsystem, and fixes security issues.

What's new in Windows Subsystem for Android 2209.40000.26.0

  • Improved Camera HAL.
  • Improved clipboard stability.
  • Improved performance in multi-threaded mode (more than 8 cores).
  • Improved security when streaming graphics.
  • Improved stability when running packages.
  • Implemented security updates for ANGLE and GSK.
  • Implemented telemetry with explanations about package installation sources.
  • Fixed window with legal information.
  • Implemented security updates for the Linux kernel.
  • Improved overall platform stability.
  • Chromium WebView has been updated to version 105.

Windows Subsystem for Android is available in the Microsoft Store. It is now generally available in 31 countries, including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, United Kingdom, United States and more. It now includes more than 50,000 Android apps that you can run on Windows 11. You can get more apps installed by installing Google Play and sideloading APKs.
