Windows 11 24H2 is required for Wi-Fi 7, not version 24H1

Previously, Dell's slide erroneously stated that Windows 11 24H1 was necessary for Wi-Fi 7, which led to widespread assumptions about the arrival of a new Windows version in April. However, it has now been clarified that this was a typo, and the correct version of the operating system needed for Wi-Fi 7 is Windows 11 24H2. Therefore, it is indeed version 24H2 that is required for Wi-Fi 7 compatibility.

Windows 11 24H2

The information comes from HP's documentation, which, while doesn't name any marketing name, points that the update is coming this fall. So "version 24H2" is coming September or October, following the actual release schedule of the operating system.

Moreover, Windows Central managed to reach Microsoft to shed some light on the mysterious Windows 11 version 24H1. The company has confirmed that there is no '24H1' release planned, and the update will be issued in the second half of 2024. Microsoft will continue working on version 24H2 over the summer, with general availability expected in the fall.
