Yesterday, AdDuplex, a cross-promotion ad networking company published their monthly stats for Windows version usage on various devices. It's based on the 5,000 or so Windows Store apps that use the AdDuplex SDK. The data was collected until October 24, 2017, a week after Microsoft released Windows 10 Fall Creators Update.

The statistics show that Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is already installed on 5.3% of devices. The Creators Update was on 9.8% of devices on April 24, 2017 - 19 days after it was initially released. But the catch is that the provided percentage value includes Slow and Release Preview Insiders rings as well who are already on version 1709.
It's also worth noting that when the Creators Update was released in April 2017, the Anniversary Update had reached 92% usage share, while the newer update was only at 74.6%. Of course, it's been six months since the Creators Update, whereas there were a full eight months between the Anniversary Update and the Creators Update.
Windows 10 usage initially grew quickly thanks to a very aggressive campaign to forcefully push it on all computers. Various KB updates were landing on users' PCs and showing offers to begin the installation of Windows 10. Some of them were also without a prominent Cancel button. Microsoft then made Windows 10 a recommended update for earlier releases of Windows which meant that like other components which install automatically for Windows like the .NET Framework, Silverlight etc, Windows 10 would also get silently downloaded.
The company was trying hard to reach their goal of 1 billion devices running Windows 10 by 2017 or 2018. Currently, the market share of Windows 10 is growing extremely slowly and a significant amount of users have issues with it or are not satisfied. Most users who were actively interested in upgrading their PCs have already done the upgrade, some others have been coaxed while a large number of Windows 7, XP and Windows 8.1 users are holding out for as long as they can to avoid Windows 10. PC sales have also been extremely lackluster for several years in a row.

I’m not “upgrading” until I get guaranteed that Aero Glass (by bigmuscle) works on this version. Otherwise, there’s no use for updates which introduce unnoticeable changes and break the old stuff.
