Vivaldi 5.5 adds built-in Task manager, Snap Support on Windows 11, and account improvements

A new version of the world's most feature rich web browser, Vivaldi 5.5, brings up with it even more tools to your fingertips. The browser now has a Task Panel in the sidebar, supports Snap on Windows 11, and makes it easier to set up accounts in Mail and Calendar, along with other improvements.

As always, you can download the latest version of Vivaldi from its official website. Existing users will receive the update automatically. Here are some details on the changes in this release.

What's new in Vivaldi 5.5

Tasks

The Task Panel is a convenient integrated task manager that lets you create  reminders, events, deadlines, with notes and places. It shows them in a built-in Calendar view so you can see what you have planned at a glance.

You can mark a task a completed with a traditional checkbox control. The task will be hidden, but you can enable completed tasks in the task view to see everything at once.

The improved Mail and Calendar setup can now automatically retrieve the required information for several services. The user simply provides his credentials, and the rest will be done automatically.

Also, the Mail reply dialog will inform you when From and Reply to fields are not identical.

Snap Layouts support

Starting in Vivaldi 5.5, you can use the major productivity feature of Windows 11 with the browser. Simply hover over the maximize button and pick one of the available layouts to arrange open windows on the screen.

Besides, there are general fixes and improvements listed in the official anouncement.
