Microsoft has hard times with printing issues in Windows 11 and Windows 10. After fixing the printing security vulnerabilities this Summer, Microsoft now needs to patch more printing-related bugs in Windows 10 and 11.

The company recently confirmed three issues with network printing in Windows 10 and Windows 11. Although those bugs affect business customers, regular consumers also experience problems with their printers. For example, printers from Brother do not work via USB cables with PCs running the latest operating system. While Microsoft tries its best to provide users with patches and bug fixes, more issues surface.

The Software giant updated the Windows 11 Health Dashboard website once again, acknowledging a new printing-related problem. According to the documentation, users might receive a prompt for administrative credentials every time they print a document. Fortunately, that problem affects devices in environments where the print server and print client are in different time zones. In other words, you probably will not experience the issue at home.

The new printing bug affects every client and server Windows platform from Windows 11 down to Windows 7 Service Pack 1. Microsoft is working on fixing the issue with a patch later this month. Unfortunately, there are no temporary workarounds.

In case you missed it, Microsoft recently released a preview update with a patch to fix performance downgrades on AMD-based systems with Windows 11. AIDA64 confirmed that the update restores lost performance and brings L3 cache latencies down to proper values (from ~40ns in pre-patched Windows 11 to ~10ns).

Also, the first cumulative update for Windows 11 (KB5006674, released on October 12, 2021) fixed the Internet slowdowns on computers with Intel Killer Wi-Fi cards. You can read about other ongoing issues in Windows 11 on the Windows 11 Health Dashboard page.
