There is a new hotkey in Windows 11 to open LinkedIn directly

Keyboard Shift Key

It has been discovered that Microsoft has quietly added a new keyboard shortcut for Windows 11 users. The Ctrl+Shift+Alt+Win+L combination opens LinkedIn in your default browser. The latter is not limited to Microsoft Edge.

Actually, this is not the first time when Microsoft adds such a keyboard shortcut for a web site or app. Previously, you could launch Microsoft Teams, as well as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook with the following hotkeys.

  • Ctrl + Shift + Alt + Win + W opens Word 365
  • Ctrl + Shift + Alt + Win + T opens Teams
  • Ctrl + Shift + Alt + Win + X is for Excel 365
  • Ctrl + Shift + Alt + Win + O is for Outlook
  • Ctrl + Shift + Alt + Win + P is for PowerPoint
  • Ctrl + Shift + Alt + Win + D is for OneDrive
  • Ctrl + Shift + Alt + Win + N is for OneNote
  • From now on, Ctrl+Shift+Alt+Win+L opens LinkedIn.

In addition, Microsoft recently re-assigned Win+C to launch the Windows Copilot AI service. Formerly, the same key sequence was used to open Cortana, and in Windows 8 it was used for Charms Bar. Another new shortcut in Windows 11 is Win + W to open the Widget menu, and Win+Alt+K to mute the microphone in compatible applications. Microsoft acquired LinkedIn in 2016. LinkedIn has since introduced anti-fraud tools and a new AI tool called LinkedIn Coach to aid job seekers in the application process.
