On September 2, 2021, Microsoft has added the Surf game to the Canary version of Edge for Android. Today, the Edge team announced that the game is now available in the stable release of the browser.

The Surf game, is an offline entertainment option in Edge where you have a chance to ride a surfboard using different characters, pick up boosters, avoid obstacles, and set high scores. To start playing, all you need to do is to visit the edge://surf URLs. Google Chrome has a similar built-in game, called Dino, although it is much more primitive when compared to Surf.

Until today, the Surf game was only available to Edge Canary on Android mobile devices. The official Microsoft Edge Twitter account has announced Surf for Android smartphones on the stable Edge version. To try the game, download Microsoft Edge Canary from the Google Play Store. Update the app, then open edge://surf.

As of now, Edge Surf is available only on Android smartphones. Microsoft says it is on the way to iOS, and will land in it pretty soon.
