Being announced just a couple weeks ago, the Voice Clarity feature is now available for Surface Laptop Studio with the April 2022 firmware update.
Voice Clarity is a feature that can suppress background noise and increase the volume of your voice during video conferences. It includes an AI-powered technology that can compensate echoes and voice distortions. So that other conference participants can hear you perfectly, even if you are in a rather noisy environment. This feature is currently available on the Surface Laptop Studio and uses the laptop's built-in studio microphones.
For the rest of devices, Windows 11 will offer a native noise reduction. But it will require the device to have a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU), like the one Surface Pro X and Lenovo ThinkPad X13s have.
Besides Voice Clarity, the Surface Laptop Studio April 2022 firmware update includes improvements to touchpad responsiveness and stability, and fixed for audio issues. It is available on Windows Update for those who run Windows 10, version 20H2 and above. The full list of changes looks as follows.
