Earlier in March, Microsoft introduced a new version of the Teams client for Windows. The new version was notable for better UI, improved performance. Microsoft is going to move the Teams 2.0 out of preview, and ship as the default client app on Windows by the end of 2023.
Designed for businesses and organizations, Microsoft Teams is a platform that enables team members to collaborate on projects in real-time through chat and file sharing. Users can conduct virtual meetings with ease, as Teams provides video and audio conferencing features. Teams also integrates with other Microsoft Office applications, such as Word and Excel, to enhance productivity and streamline workflows.
Version 2.o is currently in preview, as it is currently lacks some features from the classic Teams desktop client.
But the company hopes to achieve feature parity by the end of this year. So the apps will nearly the same functionality. After that, Microsoft will push it as the default software.
In addition, Microsoft will launch Teams 2.0 Preview for platforms other than Windows. So the new Teams client for Mac, VDI and Web preview will also appear later this year.
Teams 2.0 has faster load times and reduced latency during use, making working in Teams more efficient and convenient.
