Tab Search is now available for all Edge Dev users

Microsoft today released another weekly feature update for the Edge browser in the Dev channel. The latest version contains traditional bug fixes, minor improvements, and several noticeable features. One of those features is tab search, which is now available for all Edge Dev users.

Microsoft decided to place the tab search button in the tab menu. You can click a button in the upper-left corner to reveal several actions, such as the vertical tabs toggle, recently closed tabs, add tabs to collections, and tab search.

Clicking the latter opens a window with all the open and recently closed web pages. Those who do not need access to recently closed tabs can hide the section in the search window.

Microsoft understands that tab search is a feature some users will frequently access, so the company assigned a dedicated shortcut for the new feature. Besides launching tab search from the tab actions menu, users can press Ctrl + Shift + A.

Other new features in Microsoft Edge Dev 100.0.1163.1 include the following:

  • The browser can automatically generate captions for images.
  • The Discover pane is now enabled for all users. It provides additional insights about the websites you open.
  • The "Long Screenshots" or "Scrolling Screenshots" feature is now available on Android.
  • Developers: Added API to WebView2 to listen for PermissionRequest events from any iframe on a page.

You can find all the other changes and improvements in the latest Microsoft Edge Dev build in a dedicated post via this link. According to the official documentation, Edge 100 will arrive in the Stable channel on the Week of March 31, 2022.

In case you missed it, Microsoft recently released Edge 98 for all users in the Stable channel.
