In May, Microsoft will debut the consumer versions of the Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6, both powered by the latest ARM processors from Qualcomm. The event will be held in Seattle on May 20th. But the specs of the upcoming devices have been leaked to the public.
Typically, details about new products start to leak online a few weeks before their official unveiling, and this time was no exception. A model of the Surface Pro 10 recently showed up in the Geekbench benchmark database, featuring a Snapdragon X Plus processor and 16 GB of RAM.
The Snapdragon X Plus is an upcoming processor from Qualcomm designed for mid-range devices. It boasts 10 cores, including 6 high-performance and 4 energy-efficient cores. In the Geekbench ML test, it achieved an impressive score of 2410 points with a balanced power plan.
Interestingly, no devices with a Snapdragon X processor and less than 16 GB of RAM have been seen in benchmarks yet. This suggests that even lower-end models may come equipped with 16 GB of RAM. Additionally, Windows 11 24H2's AI Explorer feature reportedly requires a Snapdragon X processor and 16 GB of RAM.
The ARM-based Surface Pro 10 is anticipated to feature an OLED display, offering improved contrast and deeper blacks compared to previous LCD displays.
Note that the business models using Intel processors were announced at the end of March.
