Skype Allows Scheduling a Call for Groups

Microsoft is releasing a new Skype Insider Preview version to Insiders. The app version includes two new features: the ability to schedule a call for groups, and drag-n-drop support for conversations.

The new Skype Preview app has a very streamlined user interface. It follows the modern trend of flat minimalist design with glyph icons and no borders anywhere. This design is being used in all other Microsoft products.

The official change log for the Skype app comes with the following highlights:

  • Schedule a call for groups: Already used to scheduling calls from any 1:1 chat? Well guess what?! Now you can use this feature for a group! You can select all the participants of the group to pre-arrange a time for a call.
  • Just dropping in: Want to share a contact with another contact, or just add someone to a conversation? You can now just drag and drop right from your contact list into a conversation on Skype for desktop and you will see the dialog asking whether to add or share.
