Microsoft will reportedly merge the Surface Pro X and Surface Pro lineup together this fall. So instead of Surface Pro X, they will start selling Surface Pro 9 with Intel and ARM hardware options.
The information comes from Zac Bowden from Windows Central. He refers to his internal sources at Microsoft. According to him, the idea to merge two device branches exists for a while.

The idea to use several platform for a device lineup in Microsoft isn't new. If you look at the Surface Laptop family, you will find both Intel and AMD CPU versions. The key difference here is that the updated Surface Pro models will have two architectures under the same brand, x86 and ARM.
The change also means that the ARM platform is now powerful enough to supercharge the Pro models of Surface devices. Microsoft now finds it suitable for the wide range of tasks Windows can do.
The presentation of new Microsoft Surface devices is expected to take place in October. Prior to the announcement, the company should release Windows 11 version 22H2, which is coming on September 20.
