Microsoft is making Windows 10 Upgrade blocks easy to understand

As you may already know, not every user is able to get the most recent Windows 10 version right after its release. It usually takes quite long before it lands on all supported devices, due to Microsoft resolving compatibility issues with software and hardware, or just because of bugs in the OS. Many users are getting confused by not receiving the latest stable build, so Microsoft is about to make this process as transparent as possible.

Microsoft replaces classic Programs and Features with the Settings app in Windows 10

Microsoft will soon kill the classic Control Panel applet 'Programs and features' with the corresponding page in Settings, i.e. Apps > Apps and Features. The change is internally introduced in yesterday's build 20211 of Windows 10. This will end the era of the classic Control Panel applet, leaving the Settings app as the exclusive tool to remove apps and manage optional features.

Microsoft has released Windows 10 build 20211 to the Dev channel

A new build hits the Dev channel, bringing a few changes to Windows Insiders. It is notable for searching the lists of file types, protocols, and apps on the Default apps page in Settings, and for the the ability for users to attach and mount a physical disk inside of a WSL 2 distro.

Microsoft integrates servicing stack updates in cumulative updates

There is a great change made to how Microsoft is delivering update to WSUS and the Windows Update catalog. Instead of supplying the separate servicing stack update (SSU) and latest cumulative update (LCU) packages, the company is merging them into a single package, available on Microsoft Update Catalog, and for the WSUS.

Now, starting in build 87.0.629.0 and above, Edge can ask users if they want to Open, Save As, Save, or Cancel a download. This is also available in the Canary channel.
