Windows 10 version 21H1 will reach its end of support next month

Next month, Microsoft will end support for all editions of Windows 10 version 21H1, also known as the May 2021 Update. The EOL date is December 13, 2022, when the OS will receive the latest cumulative update with vulnerability fixes. Microsoft recommends upgrading to the latest versions of Windows 10 as soon as possible to continue to stay protected.

PowerToys 0.64.0 released with new tools, File Locksmith and Hosts File Editor, and settings backup

Microsoft today released a new PowerToys version 0.64. It makes two new tools available to everyone. One of them, File Locksmith, will show you what process is preventing you from deleting or moving the file. Another one, Hosts File Editor, is an easy-to-use tool for changing the hosts file. How to enable the hidden Energy Recommendations Settings page in Windows 11

Besides the search in Task Manager and the updated Reset PC dialog, recent Windows 11 pre-release builds include one more hidden gem. The Settings app now has a new Energy Recommendations page that allows you to  reduce your carbon footprint and extend the battery life by following the tips listed on it.
