A new Edge Dev build 103.0.1253.0 makes it simpler to search through your browsing history. Now you can type something like "Youtube from last week" in the history flyout to quickly filter your past navigation entries.
Microsoft released separate builds for Dev and Beta channels
Today, Microsoft closed the channel switch window for Dev and Beta Insider channels. It is not possible to change the channel after installing today's releases. Insiders on the Beta channel receive build 22621 from the 22H2 branch. The Dev channel goes forward with what will eventually become 23H2, starting with today's build 25115.
Firefox 101 Beta restores the classic download prompt
One of the controversial changes in recent Firefox versions is the file auto-download behavior. By default, whether you click on a file link, the browser automatically starts downloading it and places the file into your “Downloads” folder. This is similar to how Chrome handles the downloads, and wasn’t welcomed by core Mozilla users. The browser used to be more flexible when asked what to do with the file.
winget now supports portable apps
Windows Package Manager "winget" starts supporting portable apps. The appropriate capability is available since 1.3.1251-preview. Currently it is an experimental feature, but it is enabled by default in the preview release.

Microsoft today released new monthly cumulative updates for all supported operating systems. Traditionally, such updates do not include any new features. Instead, their goal is to fix bugs and eliminate vulnerabilities. Updates are already available from Windows Update.
Windows 10 20H2 today reaches end of the support
Today is May 10, the day when Windows 10 version 20H2 reaches end of support. All its SKUs, i.e. Home, Pro, Pro Education, and Pro for Workstations will no longer receive updates.
Microsoft Edge Dev 102.0.1245.3 allows adding a saved password manually
Microsoft has released Microsoft Edge 102.0.1245.3 to Insiders running the Dev channel browser. Some of its new features may be useful to enterprise users. For example the ability to maintain a custom IE mode list in Settings. On the consumer side, users can now add a saved password manually right in the appropriate section of the Settings tab.
Microsoft is testing Xbox Controller Bar for Windows 11
Microsoft has announced that Windows Insiders can test out the Xbox Controller Bar. It is a different version of the Xbox Game Bar created specially for game controller users. Currently, the new feature is only available to Windows 11 Insiders on the Dev and Beta channels.
