The first release of Edge 104 is now in the Dev channel, Edge 103 in Beta

Microsoft Edge 104.0.1271.2 enters the Dev channel, following the previous announcement for Edge 103 being the last build in there. From now, Microsoft will release Edge 103 builds to the Beta channel. Edge Beta 103.0.1264.13 is the first update from the 103 branch. Here are the changes.

What's new in Edge Dev 104.0.1271.2

New features

  • Added a group policy that allows enterprises to restrict the max length of username/password values added to the Edge Password Manager.
  • iOS: Added a delete button for individual apps on the block external app list.

Important fixes

  • Improved features in SharePoint for translation.
  • Improved features with the ability to select the download location and the interface to continue to display the selection dialog or not, to prevent it from not being displayed next time after a wrong touch.
  • Improved cache performance for profile pictures in Mobile.
  • Improved strings for sidebar search text when reading with a screen reader to find the area more clearly.
  • Improved web select/web capture keyboard controls with multiple displays.
  • Fixed an issue where the search bar in the Downloads hub would lose focus when typing.
  • Fixed a crash when using the Send Tab feature.
  • Fixed an issue where the search bar in the Downloads hub would lose focus when typing.
  • Fixed a crash when using Read Aloud online.

What's new in Edge Beta 103.0.1264.13

Edge 103 doesn't bring with it a lot to the Beta channel. There are a couple of new features, and 4 new group policies for IT Pros.

Control automatic profile switching

With this release, you can configure the GuidedSwitchEnabled policy to make the browser show a prompt for switching to the appropriate profile when Microsoft Edge detects that a link is a personal or work link.

Enhanced security for web browsing

Edge 103 includes a new version of Microsoft Defender SmartScreen. It is now called "Web Defense Client", and includes improvements to reliability and stability.
