Microsoft Expands Use of AI in Code Reviews (up to 90% of all pull requests)

Microsoft has revealed the extent of its use of artificial intelligence (AI) in software development, noting that its AI-powered Coding Assistant plays a central role in code reviews. The tool, developed through collaboration between Microsoft’s engineering and AI teams, currently processes more than 600,000 pull requests (PRs) per month, representing nearly 90% of all PRs at the company.

Firefox To Get WebGPU Support Enabled By Default

Mozilla has announced full support for the WebGPU API and its shading language, WGSL, in Firefox. Starting with Firefox 141, set for release on July 22, WebGPU will be enabled by default for Windows users. Support for Linux and macOS builds will follow in the coming months. Finally,  Android integration expected at a later stage.

Microsoft Ditches Shortened Date and Time on Windows 11 Taskbar

In late 2024, Microsoft was testing a redesigned, simplified system tray in Windows 11 Insider builds. The update changed the date and time section of the taskbar by removing the AM/PM designation and the current year display. The updated layout retained only the time, date, and month. Additionally, the notification bell icon was set to change appearance based on the Do Not Disturb status.

Google Plans to Merge Chrome OS and Android for Better Cross-Device Integration

In a recent interview, Sameer Samat, Google’s president of Android ecosystem development, revealed the company’s intention to merge Chrome OS and Android into a single unified platform. Google wants to understand better how users interact with their devices, particularly laptops, and then build cross-device functionality based on real-world usage patterns.

Xbox Insiders can now stream their console games on the Xbox PC app

Microsoft has announced a major enhancement to the Xbox experience on both PCs and consoles. Starting today, members of the PC Gaming Preview who hold an active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription can now stream  console games they own. While the list of supported games is limited, it already includes titles that aren't part of the Game Pass catalog. The new feature comes to 28 regions where Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) is supported.

Windows 10 Update KB5062554 Breaks Emoji Panel Search

A recent cumulative update for Windows 10 has introduced a bug that the emoji panel's search feature non-working. It was introduced in the release of update KB5062554 on July 8, 2025. This update addresses security flaws and system stability issues, but unexpectedly damaged the emoji search function.
