Mozilla launches MDN Playground, its CodePen-like service

Mozilla has launched the MDN Playground platform, allowing users to preview and share HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code snippets directly in the browser. It supports editing code, seeing real-time results, and features built-in support for the Prettier tool. MDN Playground is pretty similar to the CodePen community and offers free usage for developers.

The MDN Web Docs blog recently announced the release of the MDN Playground platform, providing users with the ability to test and showcase HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code snippets. With instant browser previewing, users can observe the results in real-time and easily share them alongside the corresponding code.

MDN Playground

The MDN Web Docs stuff plans to use the platform to format code samples on the site. It allows running the code directly in the browser and instantly see the result of the code execution. Also, the code can be quickly edited and look at the changes in the result of its work. "Play" buttons will be visible next to the code blocks on MDN, taking the developer to Playground.

The MDN Playground is compatible with all modern browsers and offers free access to developers. Sharing code snippets through permalinks requires authorization on the MDN Web Docs platform. Additionally, the Playground includes built-in support for the Prettier tool, ensuring code adheres to widely accepted design standards automatically.

Similar to the popular CodePen community, the MDN Playground provides a platform for developers to prototype and share their work using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. But the CodePen community also organizes regular competitions and contests, so it is not about code sharing only.
