Mozilla has announced a new paid Monitor Plus service

The famous browser maker has announced a new Mozilla Monitor Plus service. It expands the free Mozilla Monitor service with a paid option that allows you to continuously monitor attempts to sell personal data. It is also able to automatically send requests to remove user information from the sites of brokers trying to sell personal data. The service monitors more than 190 sites that sell personal data, including information such as full names, telephone numbers, residential addresses, information about relatives and children, and criminal records. As initial data for monitoring, you are asked to enter your first and last name, city of residence, date of birth and email.

Monitor Plus costs $8.99 per month.

Tony Cinotto, the Product Manager for Mozilla Monitor, revealed that Mozilla has formed a partnership with Onerep to conduct scans and follow-up takedown requests. It is important to note that the processing time for these requests usually ranges from seven to 14 days, and in certain cases, the requested information may not be successfully removed. Nevertheless, Mozilla remains committed to making continuous efforts and will also furnish Plus members with step-by-step instructions to attempt the removal themselves.

Mozilla Monitor was first introduced in 2019. Monitor users will now receive free scanning and a one-time data deletion option, as well as regular monthly site scans. Besides, the company offers other privacy-focused services created during the past few years, including Mozilla VPN and Firefox Relay.

This month, Mozilla released the Firefox 122 browser. It added an official .deb package for Linux, such as Ubuntu, Debian and Linux Mint. It also adds support for "Access Keys" on macOS, including support for it in form auto-fill.
