Microsoft will soon cease support for Outlook Lite, its lightweight mobile email application. The process will start on October 6, 2025. From that date, the company will block all new installations of the app. Current users may retain access temporarily, though Microsoft has not specified an end date for full discontinuation.

Released in 2022, Outlook Lite targeted devices with limited resources, offering reduced storage footprint, lower battery consumption, and compatibility with slower networks. The application excluded several integrations, including Gmail, Dropbox, Box, and Microsoft Exchange Server.
Microsoft advises users to transition to the standard Outlook Mobile app. The migration requires no administrative intervention. Users may install the replacement app via Google Play Store and log in with existing credentials to restore access to email, calendar, and files.
This retirement follows Microsoft’s recent discontinuation of other services, including Microsoft Lens and the Movies & TV store.
