ZeniMax Media is a company that owns well known game studios Bethesda, id Software, Arkane, and other studios that created plenty of popular games. The full list includes Bethesda Softworks, Bethesda Game Studios, id Software, ZeniMax Online Studios, Arkane, MachineGames, Tango Gameworks, Alpha Dog, and Roundhouse Studios.
The deal is costing Microsoft $7.5 billion. There will now be 23 studios in the Xbox Game Studios family. The acquisition also includes the 2,300 employees of Zenimax and its studios situated across the world.
Microsoft is about to feature those studios' upcoming titles in Xbox Game Pass, on Xbox and traditional PC. There are also popular franchises, such as Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Wolfenstein, DOOM, Dishonored, Prey, Quake, Starfield etc, that will have a new home in Xbox.
The announcement says:
