Microsoft has quietly rebranded mobile Edge to Microsoft Edge: AI Browser

The mobile version of the Edge browser has been recently rebranded by Microsoft as Microsoft Edge: AI Browser. This update applies to the iOS and Android versions of the browser.

You can spot the change yourself by opening this Play Store link.

Microsoft Edge AI Browser

While the renaming does not appear to have brought significant improvements to the artificial intelligence capabilities, Microsoft introduced the Microsoft Copilot app for iOS and Android towards the end of last year. This AI assistant has now achieved the same level of power as its PC counterpart.

The corporation is expected to incorporate more AI tools into the browser in the future. The renaming seems to be part of an effort to set user expectations for the Edge browser.

Microsoft is going to add more AI features to Windows 12, and sell it with a range of AI-powered devices this year.

Tierney Siren, a user on X (formerly Twitter), was the first to notice this change.
