Microsoft finally updates Sticky Notes with Windows 11 design and more

It took the company a long time, but it's better than never. Sticky Notes, the inbox note taking app for Windows, is getting a design revamp. The official account on X(Twitter) is teasing the upcoming release.

Sticky Notes, a Universal Windows Platform (UWP) app, is integrated with Windows 10 as of the "Anniversary Update," offering a range of features not available in the classic desktop app. Last time the app received the update is June 2020. By that time, Microsoft added tags and the option to make the "stickers" bigger.

Specially, with the app you can Sync (& backup) your notes across your Windows devices. It supports a dark theme, has a formatting bar, emoji, and all kind of input variants supported by the OS. To keep you desktop clean from notes, there is a new home pane for all your notes. You can now choose which notes to keep visible on your desktop and quickly find others by using the search feature. Finally, you can access your notes online.

So after four years, the app is finally getting something new. As announced by Microsoft's Brandon LeBlanc, the app has got a design refresh to match the style of Windows 11.

A new sticky notes version is coming to Windows 11

Additionally, I'm sure it will get some feature enhancements, perhaps powered by AI. But there is no official information on this matter, these are just my assumptions.

You'll find the teaser here.
