On April 13, 2021, Microsoft released fresh cumulative updates for all supported Windows versions. Besides tons of fixes and security improvements, these updates permanently remove the now unsupported Edge Legacy. More and more users switch to Edge Chromium; thus, Microsoft wants to help newcomers discover new features. As a part of these efforts, the company introduced a new welcome experience in the Edge browser. Those who launch the new Edge for the first time will see this page with a brief explanation of how the browser works and what benefits it brings.

A new welcome page splits between different sections highlighting different aspects of Microsoft Edge: shopping, productivity, protection, performance, and accessibility. Also, there is a "Learn more" page that leads users to the official website with tips and tutorials. Each tab describes several unique features in Microsoft Edge, such as collections, Immersive reader, coupon finder, etc.
