Microsoft Edge is spotted running on Linux

During the Build 2020, Microsoft has demoed Microsoft Edge browser running on Linux for the first time. This means that the company hasn't abandoned the open-source platform and is still working to support it in Edge.

If you remember, at the Ignite 2019 conference in Orlando, Microsoft had a session related to the Edge browser. There, Microsoft confirmed that a version of Edge is coming to Linux. It looks like this has finally happened.

The following screenshot demonstrates a Gnome 3 session with the Edge browser opened.

At the Build 2020 online event, Microsoft said they are exploring the Linux OS as a  potential platform for Edge, but didn't name any release date.

By releasing Edge for Linux, Microsoft may be expecting to get web developers involved in their projects and services without switching to Windows.
