The new setting allows the user to make Microsoft Edge automatically enhance images. WHen enabled, the browser will show you sharper images with better color, lighting, and contrast.
Enhance Images In Microsoft Edge

As of now, it only appears in the Canary version of Microsoft Edge. Also, not all testers will be lucky to try it in action. Microsoft is currently using A/B testing to decide whether you can access it or not. So, even if you see the switch, this doesn't mean that it works for you.

The feature description says the following on this matter.

This is currently an experimental feature so it may not be available to you yet.

If you want to try your luck, update Edge Canary to the latest build.

Speaking of other changes Edge Canary recently received, it is worth mentioning the updated "Super-Duper" secure mode. It now allows you to choose from two presets, Balanced and Strict. As for its Android counterpart, it finally allows you to take a full-page screenshot. The latter makes it possible to capture a long web page with a couple of taps, something that many users were waiting for long.
