These days, Microsoft Edge is no longer exclusive to Windows 10. You can use the browser from Microsoft on any modern Windows version (including now-unsupported Windows 7,) macOS, and even Linux. On the latter, though, Microsoft Edge is currently only available as a preview version.

In October 2020, the Software giant announced the first Edge Dev build for Linux. Since then, the company has been updating the browser every week with new features and bug fixes alongside Windows and macOS versions. The Dev branch is relatively stable for daily use and gets updates every week. Now, Linux users have one more option. Microsoft announced that Edge Beta is now available for Linux as  *.deb and *.rpm packages for Ubuntu/Debian and Fedora/openSUSE.

According to Microsoft, the Beta channel is a safe branch for those who need a stable browser and early access to new features and capabilities. Those using Beta versions of Microsoft Edge get major updates every six weeks, similarly to the stable release. Currently, the Beta channel offers Edge 91, due to release for the public at the end of May 2021.

Edge 91 Beta for Linux includes all the improvements and new features from the Dev channel. These include Microsoft Account sign-in and sync support, previously missing on Linux. It is important to note that there is still no support of Edge Canary and Edge Stable. Microsoft does not comment on when these channels will be available on Linux.

You can download *.rpm and *.deb packages of Microsoft Edge Beta for Linux from the official Edge Insider website. There you can also find similar links for Windows and macOS. In case you missed it, recently, Microsoft announced the new Edge Dev channel for Android and the updated preview program for iOS. The company wants to merge Edge's code base across all platforms (including mobile,) and the new preview channels for Android, iOS, and Linux are part of these efforts.
