Skype 8.55 is out with a number of improvement and new feature. One of them is the ability to call a user without a Skype account.
Skype 8.55 is available to all supported platforms. Microsoft is gradually rolling out Skype for Windows, Mac, and Linux 8.55.0.141, Skype for Windows 10 8.55.0.131/Microsoft Store Version 14.55.131.0, and Skype for Web 8.55.0.123. Its key features are as follows.
Meet Now
Meet Now in Skype allows you to easily set up a collaboration space and invite both Skype contacts and friends or family who are not on Skype. Participants can then easily join meetings whether they have an account or not.
To start, click the Meet Now button. You'll get a call link and a Share invite button to easily to invite others. Once you're ready, set your call to audio or video and select the Start call button.
- Send a message with tone: You can now send a voice message in Skype instead.
- Bug fixes and stability improvements
Skype for Android, iPhone, and iPad 8.55.0.123
The apps include the following new features.
- Do more with your camera: Skype for Android users can now use scanning and sending documents (or even notes on a whiteboard) in addition to other photo and video personalization enhancements.
- Meet Now on Skype: With Meet Now can quickly and easily create a meeting and invite anyone (even if they aren't on Skype) just by sharing a link.
- Bug fixes and stability improvements
The new Skype app has a very streamlined user interface. It follows the modern trend of flat minimalist design with glyph icons and no borders anywhere. This design is being used in all other Microsoft products.
