Windows 10's Task Manager has some nice features, like a performance graph and startup impact calculation. It is able to control which apps launch during startup. There is a special tab "Startup" which is designed to manage startup apps.

Task Manager Default Columns

Tip: You can save your time by creating a special shortcut to open the Task Manager directly on the Startup tab.

Using the Startup tab of Task Manager, you can easily prevent an app from starting with your OS. It is very easy - just right click the desired app and pick "Disable" from the context menu.To re-enable the disabled app, you just need to right click it again and choose the "Enable" command from the context menu.

Besides Startup Impact calculation, it is possible to make the Startup tab show a lot of other interesting information.
Right-click on any column in the list of the app entries on the Startup tab. The following context menu will appear:Column Context Menu Task Manager

There, you can see the full list of columns available for the Startup tab. It includes:

  • Publisher
  • Status
  • Startup impact
  • Startup type
  • Disk I/O at startup
  • CPU at startup
  • Running now
  • Disabled time
  • Command line

By default, only the following columns are visible:

  • Startup type

Other columns, when enabled, can provide you plenty of useful information.

  1. Hi Sergei

    Since months , I noticed I can’t see in column ” startup impact ” any details ( just N/A)
Do you have any idea how to fix that ?
I remember having it working nice before . Running win 10 x64 build 14393.726 current branch .
Could the issue comes from any service I may have disabled ? ( because I did disabled some of them )

    Thanks for help

      1. Thanks for help Sergey

I could enable again DPS service which was not running but I have some difficulties to identify services related to Windows Diagnostics Infrastructure as my system language is not US ( french )
I miss some because I still have N/A notification in startup impact column

I guess I have to investigate more .
