Recently we covered how to hide the Network icon from the Lock screen and the Sign-in screen. Today, we will see how you can remove the Power button from the Logon screen in Windows 10. This can be done with a simple Registry tweak.

The Power button appears on the Sign-in screen in Windows 10. It allows the user to shut down and restart the PC. When supported by the hardware, the Power button menu also has commands to "Sleep" and "Hibernate". So, you can turn off your PC directly from the login screen without signing in.
You might want to hide that button to improve the security of your PC, so only authorized users will have access to the shutdown command. Once you disable the Power button, it will disappear from the sign-in screen. Even if you lock your PC, you or anyone else will need to sign in before shutting it down. Keep this in mind before you proceed.
Disable the Power button on the Login Screen in Windows 10
- Open Registry Editor.
- Go to the following Registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
Tip: see How to jump to the desired Registry key with one click.
- Here, create a new 32-bit DWORD value and name it shutdownwithoutlogon. Leave its value data as 0. Note: Even if you are running a 64-bit Windows version, you still need to create a 32-bit DWORD value.
- Sign out from Windows 10 to apply the changes made by this tweak.
Once this is done, the Power button will disappear from the Login screen. See the screenshot below.
