How to Clear Cache and Cookies in Google Chrome

Chrome is a popular open-source web browser available for all major platforms. If some web pages have unexpected behavior in this browser, you can try to clear the cache and cookies. Let's see how it can be done.

Google Chrome is the most popular web browser which exists for all major platforms like Windows, Android and Linux. It comes with a powerful rendering engine which supports all modern web standards. At the moment of this writing, the most recent version of the browser is Chrome 63 (see its change log).

To clear cache and cookies in Google Chrome, do the following.

  1. Open the Google Chrome browser.
  2. Click on the menu button (the last button with three dots on the right in the toolbar).
  3. The main menu will appear. Click on Settings.Chrome Setting Menu

  5. On the right, scroll down to the Privacy and security section and click on the Content settings link.Chrome Privacy Security Content Settings Link

  7. Now, click on the link See all cookies and site data.Chrome All Cookies And Site Data Link

This will open the All cookies and site data page. Now, do the following.

Clear all cookies for all sites in Chrome

  1. Open the Cookies and site data page.
  2. To clear all cookies for all sites in Chrome, click on the button Remove all.Chrome Remove All Cookies

Delete all cookies for a specific web site in Chrome

  1. Open the Cookies and site data page.
  2. Click on the trash icon next to the site web address.Chrome Remove Certain Sites Cookies

Delete individual cookies for a specific web site in Chrome

  1. Open the Cookies and site data page.
  2. Click on the desired site in the list. The cookies available for the site will appear.
  3. Click on X button next to the cookie name you want to remove.Chrome Remove Individual Cookies

You are done! The selected cookies will be removed from the browser. Click on the "Done" button to close the content settings page of Google Chrome.

How to Clear Cache in Google Chrome

  1. Open Google Chrome.
  2. Type or copy-paste the following text in the address bar: chrome://settings/clearBrowserData
  3. In the Clear Browsing Data dialog, select Cached images and files and specify the desired time range.Chrome Clear Cache
  4. Click on the Clear data button.

You are done!

Tip: There is a special keyboard shortcut to quickly open the Clear Browsing Data dialog. Press Ctrl + ShiftDel on the keyboard to open it directly! Also, check out its advanced tab, which shows the number of items which can be removed individually.

Now, try to reload the broken web page if you had one. It should return back to normal.
