Chrome Web Store has got a new design of the Material You style

Google has updated the Chrome Web Store, making changes to its design, navigation, and adding new sections. The extension store design now uses Material You, which allows it to better interact with other Google services.

New Chrome Web Store

The updated Extensions store now reminds the online version of the Google Play Store with Android apps. At the top there are tabs with recommendations, extensions and themes. The main page provides topical recommendations, popular categories, and personalized recommendations based on existing extensions.

The use of the Material You's design style make the Chrome Web Store stand in line with the company's other products. It now sports rounder icons and buttons. You will also find blocks with thematic recommendations on the main page.

At the top, you can switch between the Recommendations, Extensions, and Themes categories. Editor picks now reside in a slider in the middle of the page. Next to it there is a block of popular categories and personal recommendations based on your already installed extensions.

In the “Extensions” and “Themes” sections on the left side of the page there is a menu for selecting available categories. In addition, in the same menu you can find a link to the developer portal and a list of published extensions for Google Chrome.
