Microsoft has fixed the bug that renames all printers to HP products

Microsoft released update KB5034510 on December 15, 2023, to address a bug in Windows 10/11 where all printers were being renamed to HP products. The patch file for fixing the printer renaming issue in 64-bit versions of Windows 11 is named PrintMetadataTroubleshooterX64.exe and has a size of 240 kilobytes.

Windows 11 Build 22635.2915 (Beta) adds custom Voice Access shortcuts (commands)

Microsoft today released the last Beta build in 2023 of Windows 11 Insider Preview. Build 22635.2915 (KB5033456) adds custom command support to Voice Access with extra language and a multi-display option,  and improves  discoverability of screen casting. Besides, there are new features and improvements for Windows 365 Boot, Windows 365 Switch, and fixes.

Windows 11 Build 23606 (Dev) includes fixes, deprecates Speech Recognition

Windows 11 Build 23606 is now available to Insiders in the Dev channel.  It is the first release that deprecates Speech Recognition and prevents you from accessing it. It also includes fixes for File Explorer and input. Finally, it is worth noting that it is the last Dev channel release 2023 - the next one will only come in 2024.

Patch Tuesday updates for Windows 11 and Windows 10, December 12, 2023

Microsoft today released the monthly cumulative updates for all Windows 11/10 systems that are currently supported. These updates mainly concentrate on resolving issues and closing vulnerabilities, but may include some new features earlier available to Insiders. Users can conveniently obtain these updates with the built-in Windows Update option.

Copilot in Microsoft Edge may fail create a summary for specific videos

Recently, Microsoft Edge browser has received a new Copilot-based feature that allows you to generate text summaries for videos. However, at the moment, it only works with pre-processed videos or subtitles, as reported by the head of Microsoft's advertising and web services division, Mikhail Parakhin.

Microsoft may add a new console text editor to Windows

Microsoft is exploring the addition of a new text editor to Windows without the GUI. It will work in Terminal, and will replace the aged and not really useful edit app which is not included in 64-bit Windows. The new app will bring the power of Linux console editors to Windows in a user-friendly way.

Windows 11 Build 22635.2850 (Beta) improves the Share pane and Store

Microsoft today released Windows 11 Build 22635.2850 (KB5033453) to Insiders in the Beta channel. It includes some changes earlier introduced to the Canary and Dev channels. Those include a new Share dialog with Whatsapp support, and the updated Microsoft Store app.
