Microsoft will now release optional updates on last week of the month

Microsoft has announced that, starting in April 2023, non-security cumulative updates will be released during the fourth week of the month. As a reminder, these updates are intended to test fixes and innovations for next month's mandatory cumulative updates, which users will receive on the second Tuesday.

Windows 11 now allows you to automatically install preview updates

Microsoft has added a new option to Windows 11 that allows you to automatically install preview updates once they appear on Windows Update. The option significantly speeds up the update receiving process, as "Preview" updates come as optional patches that you have to install manually.

March update of Windows Subsystem for Android 2302.4000 improves stability, audio issues and security

Microsoft has released a new version 2202.4000 of Windows Subsystem for Android. The new WSA is available in the Windows Insider Dev and Beta Channels. It includes Android 13 security updates, and improves hardware support, along with audio issues and security fixes.

Beta channel insiders are getting Windows 11 Build 22621.1465 and 22624.1465

Microsoft has released two new Beta builds of Windows 11 version 22H2, 22621.1465 and 22624.1465. They come as KB5023775 that enables new features for those who is on Build 22624.1465. It includes Live Captions available in more languages, updated touch keyboard settings, word prediction for Simplified Chinese IME, mult-app kios mode, a new VPN overlay icon, and several fixes and general improvements.

The ability to install Windows on ReFS may become exclusive to Windows 12

As you may remember, Microsoft has added a hidden option to install Windows 11 on ReFS. The OS installer could support formatting new partitions to ReFS and use such a partition to boot from. It was a feature of the Dev channel builds. However, after rebooting the Insider program, everything has been scrapped from the Dev channel and moved to Canary builds.

Microsoft is finally restoring the ability to ungroup taskbar buttons and show text labels for the running apps. As you may remember, the company has started working on it at least in November 2022. Now, the latest Canary build shows some progress in this direction.
