Google makes it easier to unsubscribe from emails

Google has simplified the process of unsubscribing from emails in Gmail. A new feature allows users to unsubscribe without opening the email by simply hovering over it. The change is now available in the Gmail app for iOS and Android, eliminating the need to go through the email itself to find the unsubscribe link, or dive into the menu.

Microsoft has announced Copilot Pro subscription for $20/mo

Microsoft opens Copilot Pro subscription for $20 to add its support to Office. The company first launched AI-powered Office features for business in November. Now it becomes part of a $20-per-month Copilot Pro subscription. For that money, users will get access to AI options in Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as priority access to the latest OpenAI models and the ability to create their own Copilot GPT.

PowerToys 0.77 is out with a new “Command Not Found” tool

Along with cumulative updates, Microsoft today released a new PowerToys 0.77 version. It adds a new utility called "Command Not Found" that tracks the commands you type, and can recommend you to install the appropriate software that provides the command if it is missing in your OS. For example, if you type "vim", it will suggest you to get one of the Vim ports available in WinGet (if none is installed). This currently works only in PowerShell 7.4.

Broadcom has revised licensing terms for VMware partners

Broadcom has made changes to the process for VMware partners to enter service agreements. Partners are no longer able to do so directly through the partner portal and will instead be served by Broadcom. The portal currently has 2,000 registered accounts, and any attempts by partners to register transactions with VMware will be rejected.

Reminder: Next week Steam drops support for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1

Starting from January 1, 2024, Steam, an online platform for purchasing computer games, will no longer support Windows 7 and Windows 8 systems. The majority of Windows users have already upgraded to either Windows 10 or Windows 11, with almost 95% of Windows desktop users using one of these two versions, according to StatCounter. Steam's own data indicates that as of November 2023, the number of users on Windows 10 and Windows 11 is 98.98%.

Microsoft and TomTom are working on voice AI assistants for cars

Microsoft and auto technology company TomTom are joining forces to add AI voice assistants into vehicle information systems. TomTom has recently developed its own generative AI voice assistant specifically designed for cars. This voice assistant will be powered by Microsoft Azure OpenAI service.
