How to Enable Tab Groups In Google Chrome
Starting in Google Chrome 80 the browser introduces a new GUI feature - Tab Grouping. It allows combining individual tabs into visually organized groups. Tab Grouping is enabled to a small group of users, but you can add it to your browser if it is not visible by default.
Google Chrome 80 is out today. Version 80 comes with the Scroll-To-Text feature, Tab Freezing, Notification restrictions for abusive web sites, Cookie safety improvements, and much more.
You may already know that one of the improvements made to Edge over Chromium and Chrome is the ability to move multiple selected tabs to a new window. A similar feature is only coming to Chrome. Collaboration between engineers of the two software giants will make it possible to have Edge's version of the tab moving feature in Chrome natively.
Google today revealed a couple of changes that will be done to Google Chrome in the future. The browser will prevent sites from managing third-party cookies, e.g. from setting the cookie trackers which spy on users over the Internet. Also, Google wants to drop the User Agent line to stop differentiating browsers by it. The company offers an alternative, which instead will briefly report supported features and capabilities.
Despite it being over ten years old, Windows 7 is still one of the most popular operating systems available today. Next week, however, will see Microsoft end support for it, and stop providing security fixes and updates. This has left a question about what programs will remain compatible with Windows 7.
As you may already know, one of the key changes in Firefox 72 is a reworked notification system that suppresses notification requests for certain web sites, especially for sites which try to subscribe you to their notifications without your interaction. Google Chrome devs are also working in this area. A new announcement from Google sheds some light on notification changes that are coming to Chrome 80.
The popular Google Chrome web browser already includes a number of methods you can use to move a tab to a new app window. For example, you can drag-and-drop a tab to the desktop to open a new window with the current tab as the only tab opened in that window. Google is working to add a new context menu for that task.
Yet another change is on the way to Chrome users. Google is updating the browser to show error codes on its 'Aw, Snap!' crash pages. With this change, you will no longer need to browse online for the error description and clearly see what has actually happened with a crashed tab.
