Yesterday, Mozilla made available a new Firefox version to stable version users. Firefox 95 is a minor release with mostly security and privacy improvements. Here are the key changes in this release.

Although Firefox is not the most popular browser, nor it offers the same compatibility level as Chrome or Edge, it is a solid alternative to mainstream Chromium-based solutions. Besides, in a world where one company adds eavesdropping APIs and another bloats its browser with cash grab features, Firefox is a breath of fresh air for privacy-minded users.

As promised earlier this year, Mozilla Foundation released the Firefox browser in the Microsoft Store. It is now available to download on computers running Windows 10 and 11.

Mozilla today updated the stable branch of the Firefox browser with a new version. Firefox 94 released, bringing much anticipated Colorways themes to everyone. Besides the new themes, there are background updates, improvements to Site Isolation, a Firefox Multi-Account Containers extension with Mozilla VPN integration, and more.

You can enable or disable the Close Tab confirmation in Firefox 94 thanks to the new option added to the browser. In a document on the official Mozilla Support website, Firefox developers revealed that Firefox 94 and newer versions of the browser no longer display the Close Tab warnings.

Before Microsoft released Windows 11, the Software giant allowed only EdgeHTML-based browsers in the Microsoft Store. Now, with Edge Legacy and its proprietary engine being six feet under, Microsoft embraces Chromium and eases off rules in its store. To bring more customers and developers to the Microsoft Store, Microsoft allowed publishing third-party browsers with various engines (there are many other new policies, such as permission to use custom payment systems, CDNs, unpackaged apps, third-party stores, more). As a result, we see developers bringing popular browsers to the Microsoft Store, providing users with an easy and trustworthy place to get their favorite apps.

Mozilla released a new version of its browser. Firefox 93 has become available for download on October 5, 2021, the same day Microsoft released Windows 11. Despite the version number change, it is hard to call this release a major update to the browser. Most changes are fixes and general improvements.

Not so long ago, Mozilla introduced a fully redesigned UI for the Firefox browser, called Proton UI. After shipping Proton UI to the public, Mozilla Foundation continues working on the visual aspect of its browser. In Firefox 95, which is currently available in the Nightly channel, users can select several new colorful themes.

Firefox comes with the Google search engine by default in many countries. This may change soon. Mozilla is currently testing the default search engine set to Microsoft Bing  and how it will affect Firefox users.
