Easily Customize Action Center Buttons in Windows 10

Action Center is a useful feature of Windows 10. It stores notifications about all important events like updates, maintenance and security warnings in a single place. Action Center comes with Quick Action buttons - a set of buttons which allow you to manage various system functions quickly and instantly. With recent updates of Windows 10, you customize these quick actions right from the right-click menu.

There are 4 buttons which are visible by default:

In my Windows 10 build 18277, I have the following buttons visible by default:

18277 Action Center All Buttons

Starting in Windows 10 Build 18277, you can customize the Quick Action buttons right from the context menu.

Easily Customize Action Center Buttons in Windows 10

    1. Open the Action Center pane. You can do it as follows.
    2. Right-click on any Quick Action button and select Edit from the context menu.18277 Action Center Edit Context Menu
    3. Click on the Unpin icon to remove the desired buttons.18277 Action Center Unpin Button Icon
    4. To add a button, click on the Add icon and select the button you want to add from the list.18277 Action Center Add A Button
    5. Use drag-n-drop to re-arrange the buttons.
    6. Click on the Done button to leave the button editor.

Note: In certain Windows 10 versions you can make Action Center remain open until you close it manually. The Action Center pane closes automatically when you click another window, Desktop or anywhere else, that is, when it loses focus. To change this behavior, see the article
