Turn On or Off Camera and Microphone in Microsoft Edge Application Guard

Windows Defender Application Guard is an extra security feature of Windows 10. When enabled, it implements a sandbox for the built-in web browser, Microsoft Edge, in Windows 10. Starting in Windows 10 Build 18277, you can manage access to your camera and microphone while browsing using Application Guard for Microsoft Edge.

Windows Defender Application Guard provides protection against targeted threats by utilizing the Hyper-V virtualization technology. It adds a special virtual layer between the browser and the OS, preventing web apps and the browser from accessing the actual data stored on the disk drive and in memory.

Prior to Windows 10 build 17063, the feature was exclusively available to Enterprise editions of Windows 10. These days, the feature is available to Windows 10 Pro users.

With Windows 10 Build 18277, Microsoft announced a new option for Application Guard.

Insiders will notice that Isolated browsing has an additional toggle that lets users manage access to their camera and microphone while browsing using Application Guard for Microsoft Edge. If this is managed by enterprise admins, users can check how this setting is configured. For this to be turned on in Application Guard for Microsoft Edge, the camera and microphone setting must already be turned on for the device in Settings > Privacy > Microphone & Settings > Privacy > Camera.

  1. So I can use the microphone stand as a mic on xbox 360 and ps4 for the party members and they listen to me through that too?
