Windows 11 24H2 has issues with RDP after recent updates
There's a reported issue in Windows 11 24H2 where Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) sessions fail to work properly after logging in. It's not yet known what exactly causes the bug. Some users blame recent security patches, such as KB5050094 and KB5051987. These updates seem to have introduced changes that affect how RDP interacts with the network.
Windows 11 Build 22635.4950 (Beta) adds Share bar, Grid and Category view to Start menu
Microsoft is releasing Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22635.4950 (KB5052078) to the Beta Channel. The update is only available to users who didn't set their settings to get 24H2 Insider releases. and applies to version 23H2. The release comes with significant UI improvements, and adds a Share bar to the top of the screen, making sharing your files much easier and convenient. Besides, the Start menu now supports the Grid and Categories views for the "All apps" page.
Windows 11 Build 26120.3291 (Dev & Beta) improves Search and Snipping Tool
Windows 11 Build 26120.3291 (KB5052080) is now available to Insiders in the Dev and Beta channels. The release includes and improved Windows Search that supports natural language to find objects in images. The updated Snipping Tool includes the option to trim video recordings. Insiders in the Beta channel are receiving the same Windows 11 version 24H2 builds that are released to the Dev channel. The updates are currently optional, so you can choose the right time to upgrade to the new OS version.
PowerToys is getting WinGet integration
PowerToys will soon be capable to install apps for you. Using winget as its backend, the option to be part of the PowerToys Run module. So it will act like a GUI for winget, sort of.
Google ends support for original uBlock Origin
Google starts removing the uBlock Origin ad blocker from the Chrome Web Store. The change is already active for some users. While they can reinstall it, the browser shows a warning. It says "This extension may soon be unsupported because it does not follow best practices for Chrome extensions."
