How to Add Registry Editor to Control Panel in Windows 10
Registry Editor is an essential tool for system administrators, geeks and regular users who want to change the Windows operating system's hidden settings which are not available via its user interface. You can add it to the Control Panel if you want. This adds extra value to the classic Control Panel tool, which Microsoft continues to remove features from in flavor of the Settings app.
The Registry Editor was born as a tool for users who want to change Windows settings which are not exposed in the user interface. The main purpose of this tool is to view and change the settings in the system registry - a set of special files which contain configuration information about Windows and almost all software installed. Windows and many programs (except the ones which are "portable") use this information to read and write their own settings to the registry.

With Windows 10, Microsoft has added the ability to quickly jump between similar Registry keys in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE branch and HKEY_CURRENT_USER branch. For example, the Software subkey exists in two branches, HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software
and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software
.
Switch Between HKCU and HKLM in Registry Editor in Windows 10
The main executable file of Registry Editor is located in the C:\Windows directory. So you can navigate to that folder and run the regedit.exe file directly. Or you can create a shortcut to Regedit.exe and paste it in the Start Menu at %ProgramData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs under the System Tools folder. This will make Registry Editor show up in Start Menu search as well.
Additionally, you can add it to the classic Control Panel.
