Microsoft has introduced a new app for accessing remote PCs from iOS, iPadOS, macOS, Windows, and browsers. Simply called "Windows App", it turns the Windows 365 app into a central hub for streaming Windows from a remote PC, Azure Virtual Desktop, Microsoft Dev Box, and Microsoft Remote Desktop Services.
The app supports multiple monitors, custom display resolution and scaling, and device redirection such as webcams, drives, and printers.
The preview version of the Windows App is not currently available for Android.
Using a browser on a desktop or laptop, users can connect to Windows without having to download and install any additional software, the corporation notes.
Microsoft is making the new solution available to enterprise customers only, but The Verge points to signs that a general availability version of the app is coming soon. The Windows App sign-in prompt requires users to use a Microsoft account, but this feature is currently broken.
Microsoft also announced several significant improvements to Windows 365, including GPU support, new AI capabilities, watermarking for cloud PCs, and more.
