Microsoft is expanding the availability of the Windows System for Android (WSA) to five more countries. Currently, it is only available in the US, but enthusiasts can get it working anywhere by installing it manually.
Now, during the Build 2022 conference Microsoft announced that users in France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the UK will also soon be able to officially test WSA.
WSA comes with the Amazon app store bundled, and it is the only app source inside the WSA environment. It is not even close to Google Play, as it doesn't include most apps. It only shows the Android applications that have been tested for compatibility with WSA. To make it more valuable, Microsoft claimed at Build 2022 that it will receive a new portion of apps every month.
Meanwhile, you can sideload Android APKs directly to use them on WSA. Even more, you can install Google Play on WSA, sign in with your Google account, and enjoy the full set of apps available on regular smartphones and tablets.
Microsoft didn't announce when Windows Susbsystem for Android will reach the stable version. Currently, it is a work in progress, and the company is polishing its features and compatibility. A few days ago, WSA received an update to Android 12.1 and received several other improvements.

I tested Android on my Raspberry Pi 4 not so long ago. Worked really well. Was from KonstaKANG (lineage-19.1-20220511-UNOFFICIAL-KonstaKANG-rpi4). It is built on Android 12L. Comes without GAPPS from the start. Can be installed afterwards if you want it. I don’t want that. I use other sources to install apps.
