Windows 11 will be available on October 5 without Android apps support

After several questionable tips and hints, Microsoft finally announced the official date on which the company will start rolling out Windows 11. According to the official post on Windows Blogs, Windows 11 will be available on October 5, 2021.

Windows 11 is a free upgrade for computers running Windows 10. Also, on October 5, 2021, OEMs will start selling computers with Windows 11 pre-loaded. The new operating system comes with a fresh and modern design, fresh sounds, and a new version of the taskbar and Start menu. The company also improved window management with Snap Layouts, Snap Groups, and several improvements to virtual desktops. There are also new Windows widgets and a built-in to the taskbar Microsoft Teams Chat to provide "a faster way to connect to the people you care about."

Besides improving productivity, Window 11 enhances your gaming experience with several technologies, such as DirectX 12 Ultimate, DirectStorage, and AutoHDR.

A big part of Windows 11 is a brand-new Microsoft Store that offers fresh UI for users and new policies for developers. Microsoft now allows more app types and payment systems in the store, providing app-makers with more ways to distribute, deliver, and profit their apps and games.

Finally, Windows 11 will bring Android apps support to Windows-based computers, although that capability will not be available on day one. Microsoft says it will start testing Android applications with the help of Windows Insiders in the coming months.

Note that not all users will receive an offer to upgrade Windows 10 to Windows 11 on October 5, 2021. Microsoft says it will start rolling out the new OS to "new eligible devices" first. All computers that meet minimum hardware requirements will receive an invitation to upgrade by mid-2022. Of course, you do not need to wait until Microsoft decides that your computer can run Windows 11. Microsoft will publish official ISOs and an updated version of the Media Creation Tool for manual upgrade and clean install, including older devices that do not meet minimum hardware requirements. Right now, you can check whether your PC is compatible with Windows 11 using the PC Health Check utility. Soon, Microsoft will release an update for Windows Update to provide information about your device's compatibility with the newest operating system.
