You may remember that Windows 11 preview builds for Insiders now include a brand new Task Manager app. It features a restyled user interface that matches the look and feel of other Windows 11 apps. There are also new icons, dark mode support, the return of Efficient mode for apps, and more. Microsoft goes forward with updating Task Manager, which now supports accent color for process highlights.
During a live stream on YouTube, the Windows Insider team showcased the change to the Task Manager user interface. The grid of apps and processes, as well as accent color for tabs and controls in the app will now follow the accent color you have set in Windows 11 Settings. This adds the UI consistency that many users are looking for.
The new feature will be available to Insiders soon.
Also, the Windows Insider team noted that the build shown on the stream is an internal version of the OS. It is not the build that will be available to insiders on the Dev and Beta channels this week.
It is expected that this change will appear in one of the future builds, but the exact timing is not yet known.
The new version of Task Manager is expected to be part of the upcoming feature update for Windows 11 (22H2), which is scheduled for the second half of the year.
